Overview

The degree has been developed in response to increasing student demand and employer preference for recruitment of combined degree graduates. The degree enables students to combine the skills acquired through study in the humanities and social sciences with the economic and applied skills available in the Bachelor of Business.

Entry Requirements

Any two units of English. Mathematics is desirable for majors in Economics and quantitative areas.

Graduates can expect to find employment in fields such as banking, insurance, public relations, tourism, publishing, investment advice, government and human resources.

Summer Semester provides an opportunity for students to fast track their academic progression or to catch up on units required to complete the degree. A selection of units is offered off-campus during the normal semester break from November to February, enabling students to study from home and to accelerate their progress towards graduation.

Scholarships The University offers a number of Faculty/College and country scholarships available to Australian citizens and permanent residents.

Information for Continuing Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Business Students for 2008

Course Requirements (pre 2008)
To qualify for the degree students must successfully complete 192 cp as follows:

The Arts component comprising 96 cp selected from subjects as shown in the Bachelor of Arts including the following:
(i) not more than 36 cp at 100 level;
(ii) at least 48 cp, including at least 18 cp at 300 level, in a single subject; and
(iii) at least 12 cp in each of three separate subjects.

The Business component of the combined degree totals 96 cp and comprises:
(a) Compulsory units to the value of 60 cp:
AFM 101,112; COMP 100; ECON 101,102, 243; MM 105, 110, 200; QM 161;
(b) six units (36 cp) from one of the Bachelor of Business majors, provided that any unit included shall count only towards the business component of the combined degree:
