In a cursory review of the literature, research supervision is variously described a process of enculturation, a balancing act, a synergistic relationship and quite simply, teaching. This seminar is offered as a follow-up to the March seminar presented by current and recent HDR students entitled ‘Research supervision: The good the bad and the ugly’. In this second seminar, a panel of experienced HDR supervisors will share their perspectives and thoughts about:
- Strategies for effectively facilitating the progress of HDR students
- Specific supervisory challenges and how to address them
- Resources helpful in guiding HDR students.
This seminar will be informative for novice supervisors and HDR students, plus may offer different insights for more experienced HDR supervisors.
