Collaborating to offer small courses/subjects forum
Welcome to the collaborating to offer small courses/ subjects forum hosted by the University of New England for the Carrick Institute.The Collaboration to offer to small courses/subjects Colloquium program will include speakers who have been involved or are currently involved in a collaboration to support small courses/subjects. Small courses/subjects are defined broadly and include instances where
- Universities provide programmes delivered across a range of institutions for efficiency
- Universities who offer subjects and share teaching to extend student choice
- Programmes for students and staff which support disciplinary needs
- Collaboration with discipline-based organizations
These will be across a number of discipline areas and include those collaborations that have been tried, those that are well established and those being developed now. The colloquium will provide opportunities for those interested in exploring a range of models for collaborating across the sector. Through these presentations, questions to presenters, and round table discussions, the colloquium will address:
- the characteristics of a successful collaboration;
- issues that need to be resolved to be able to collaborate on the delivery of small courses through collaboration between institutions;
- new initiatives, interest in the development of such initiatives and what support is needed to assist these initiatives.
We look forward to welcoming you to the University of New England and Armidale.
