CLG/Professional Development
The Centre for Local Government has a solid history in delivering training programs to the local government sector.
Programs are developed and delivered by trainers associated with the Centre. The Centre maintains responsibility for academic oversight of these programs, which are predominantly delivered by UNE Partnerships, the education and training company of the University of New England.
UNE Partnerships provides a flexible approach to training in local government through its learning and development solutions. Developing targeted training programs is essential for local government to meet its contemporary challenges, to up skill and retain valuable ‘hard to source’ staff and to resolve the specific organisational needs of individual councils.
As a Registered Training Organisation, UNE Partnerships offers a range of development programs that align to different levels and functions in local government organisations. These provide a broad suite of vocational programs to underpin staff development in local government and add depth to UNE programs.
UNE Partnerships government qualifications are specifically designed for those working within the government or the public sector through structured workplace training. They provide a flexible approach to develop the specific skills and knowledge required to work effectively within the government or the public sector in both regional and metropolitan areas.
