Options on Sundays . . . .
Are you looking for:
Small congregation, plenty of opportunity for discussion, Holy Communion each week, early start? - The 8.00 am service is probably for you.
Large congregation, traditional style, family-friendly, congregational involvement? - Try the 9.30 am service and see how it feels. Fairly formal, but with use of modern music and involvement of congregational members in various parts of the service. Sunday School is offered in conjunction with this service during school term time for preschoolers and school aged young people.
Contemporary, informal, varied? - try Sundays@7 to see if it fits. 7 pm each Sunday evening in Wesley Hall
During internal teaching periods it rotates through a program of:
- contemporary worship
- movie and chat
- all music evening;
- dinner and discussion/meditation
In November and December there will be a program of Advent bible studies then a Christmas music evening on Sunday, 13 December, after which the service will go into recess until Sunday 15 February when there will be a BBQ tea followed by contemporary worship.
For up to date info and/or to be involved in the planning, join the Sundays@7 email list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sundays_at_7/ (you will need a Yahoo ID to do this) or by sending an email to sundays_at_7-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. In order to limit the amount of junk email sent to the list, your membership will need to be approved by the list moderator. If you sing, play an instrument or have gifts visual arts or the ability to produce PowerPoint slideshows, we can put your gifts to good use. If you just want to be part of a different way of worshipping God, you’ll be warmly welcomed, too. Stay for supper afterwards and get to know us better.
. . . and during the week
For information Bible Studies and other groups - contact the church office or the minister for information about activities in town. The church has small groups for social activities, support and community building based on the Passionist Family Group programme. Despite the name, these groups are open to anyone who is interested - you do not have to be part of a traditional nuclear family.
Interested in finding out more about Christianity over a meal? - The church conducts Alpha courses and Living the Questions groups on a regular basis. Again, the details are available from the church office.
