A Weekend of Famine
21-23 August at the church - an opportunity to participate in the 40 Hour Famine with others. After begining with a BYO food to share meal at 6.30 pm on the Friday, we will be giving up things other than food over the weekend. Friday evening will be a technology-free time playing board games, charades etc. On Saturday morning, we will set up a display in Beardy Street Mall highlighting the difference in food availability between Australia and developing countries; in the afternoon we will look at how we spend our time and how we might do this more effectively so we have time to make a difference to the world's poorest people. In the evening, we'll experience what it's like to be voiceless, whilst watching movies. On Sunday morning, we will go without furniture. For further information, check back here or for painless updates join the Facebook Event Feel free to attend some or all of the weekend.
