Other Churches and Religious Groups in the Armidale District
A wide range of Christian denominations and some other faith groups meet in Armidale for worship and other activities and welcome members of the university community. The Catholic and Anglican churches both have cathedrals in the centre of town as well as worship communities on campus and the following denominations also meet:

- Buddhist- there is an active Buddhist community in Armidale which conducts meditation meetings 7-8.30 pm on Monday at the Armidale Community Buddhist Centre, 2/11 Beardy Street (above the Mandarin Chinese Restaurant) and special activities at the Vajra Ling Retreat Centre, Rocky River from time to time. - Hindu - there is a small but growing group of Hindu students on campus. Contact Sandeep Narwal email: snarwal@une.edu.au for details.
- Jewish - there is no formal Jewish community in Armidale, although there are some Jewish people. In 2006 we were visited for the first time by the team from Chabad of Rural and Regional Australia. They visit from time to time and their website contains a host of information, including contact details.
- Orthodox Church - there is no Orthodox church in Armidale, but Fr John Macpherson from Holy Trinity Monastery at Monkerai near Dungog will be visiting three times this year. He and a colleague present a talk on the history of Christianity on Saturday evening at 7 pm in the Paul Barratt Lecture Theatre and then conduct an Orthodox Liturgy and Holy Communion at 10 am on Suday morning at St Mary's Anglican church, western end of Rusdent St, Armidale.
