About

The Centre for Applied Research in Social Science (CARSS) was established in 2005. In its short life, the Centre has an established network of contacts and collaborators in leading government and non-government agencies and currently conducts externally funded research with these partners.  (details click on the research project page)

The Centre has an established track record in:

  • securing external research funding from competitive national research grants schemes and competitive research tenders
  • conducting consultancies and evaluations for community and government organizations
  • conducting research for local government, state and national government departments and agencies
  • producing research of relevance to evidence based policy formulation
  • conducting research in partnership with collaborators at a local, regional and global level
  • delivering high quality research  with impact and credibility
  • providing high quality post-graduate and post-doctoral supervision and research training
