SCR Principle Dates | SCR Quarterly Newsletter

The Senior Common Room is the permanent body of Academics and other supporters of the College who sponsor the undergraduates in their life at College and the University and look after their welfare. It is led by the Master and includes the Dean of Students, those persons invited to join by the Master, and the Resident Support Team (RST) of that year. While the membership of the SCR is annually reviewed, many members are associated with the College for long periods of time giving the continuity that the body needs to do its job.

External members are encouraged to involve themselves in the life of the College, sharing their particular skills with the students to enhance their growth as good thinkers and responsible young adults.

Resident Advisors, as is detailed elsewhere, have both academic and pastoral responsibilities to the undergraduates. As members of the SCR they provide youthful vitality and direct contact between the student body and the mentor body.

The Senior Common Room elects its own committee annually and appoints sub-committees, such as a Social Committee and a Talks Committee, from time to time. These arrange socials and talks for the SCR and the whole College. These talks are an opportunity to increase the range and depth of your knowledge.

The SCR sets its own annual fee.
