Entrance Scholarships for New Students
ALBIES ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS CLOSE: 23 FEBRUARY 2009
These eleven scholarships are provided by the St. Kilda Hotel and have a value of $1,000 each. The scholarships are in the following areas:

Scholarships for Returning Students
College Rugby & Netball Scholarships
Albies offers both Rugby and Netball Scholarships to new and continuing students. Each scholarship is worth between $500 and $1,000. To be eligible you must be a student of the College at the time of application.
Application forms and closing dates are available from the Club Presidents.
ADIG Scholarships (2nd, 3rd or 4th year students)
These scholarships are provided by the Armidale Diocesan Investment Group to reward the previous contribution of students to the College and encourage future involvement in College activities. They have a value of $1,000 each. The scholarships are in the following areas:

Coopers Scholarships (2nd, 3rd or 4th year students)
These scholarships are provided by Coopers to reward the previous contribution of students to the College and encourage future involvement in College sport. They have a value of $1,000 each. The scholarships are in the following areas:

Seniors Scholarship (3rd, 4th and later year students)
These are awarded to all students (in third year or later) living at the College to encourage their participation in the life of the College. These provide a 10% discount in their accommodation at the College.
Walton Scholarship (Postgraduate)
This scholarship was instituted by Professor John Walton, former Professor of Curriculum Studies at the University of New England .
It is awarded to encourage further high-grade study and is awarded to a student who has excelled in their Bachelor's Degree, is remaining in residence and is pursuing a postgraduate degree (including Honours).
It is presented at the Founders Dinner in August. It has a value of $500.
Peace Studies Scholarship (Postgraduate)
This is awarded to an external student enrolled for the degree of M. Litt. (Peace Studies). It has the equivalent value of free residential school accommodation.
Bursaries
Three bursaries are available to the residents of St. Albert 's College. Any combination of the three bursaries, up to a total value of $2,000 may be awarded. Applications will normally be received in early second term.
ROBERT NESTDALE MEMORIAL BURSARY (2nd Year or later Student)
This is awarded to commemorate the life and work of the late Robert Nestdale, College resident (1973-1975).
It is awarded annually to a 2nd , 3rd , or 4th Year student who is performing well academically in that year, but who faces significant financial difficulties. It has a value of $1,000.
FATHER T. FITZGERALD COMMEMORATIVE BURSARY
This is awarded to commemorate the life and work of the Father T. Fitzgerald.
It is awarded annually to a College student who is performing well academically in that year, but who faces significant adversity. It has a value of $1,000.
MICHAEL HALLINAN BURSARY
This is awarded to commemorate the life of Michael Hallinan, the father of Father Denis Hallinan.
It is awarded annually to a College student who is facing severe financial need. It has a value of up to $2,000.
Awards & Prizes
HALLINAN PRIZE
This medal is awarded annually in honour of Father Hallinan the second Master of St. Albert's College (1978 - 1986).
It is awarded to the student, from any year, who has the finest academic record for that year (based on their GPA). It is presented at the Founder's Dinner of the following year.
ACADEMIC AWARDS
These awards are given each semester to acknowledge the academic achievements of College students in the previous semesters examinations. They are awarded to the College student with the highest Grade Point Average in the following categories:
• 1 st Year student (Knight's Prize) - must have a Distinction Average or better
• 2 nd Year student (SCR Prize) - must have a Distinction Average or better
• 3 rd Year student (Martha Hallinan Prize) - must have a Distinction Average or better
• 4 th Year student - must have a Distinction Average or better
• Top UNE student in any Course or unit
• Top Performing Floor (Dean's Prize) - awarded once each year on the basis of Semester 1 results only.
• Top Graduand at each semester's Graduation (Reginald of Orleans Prize).
If an exceptional examination result is obtained by a student and they do not fit into one of the categories above, the College will award the student the Master's prize.
ACADEMIC GLASSES
Academic Glasses are awarded to all College students who gain a credit average or better in either semester examinations.
COLLEGE AWARDS
These awards are given annually to acknowledge the contribution of College students in cultural, community and sporting activities of the College. The awards are given to:
- Collegian of the Year
- Supporter of the Year
- Female Fresher of the Year
- Male Fresher of the Year
NOTES
- All academic scholarships are allocated by the College - no application form is required.
- Students need to apply for the Entrance Scholarships (not the academic scholarship), ADIG Scholarships, CUB Scholarships.
- Students may apply for any of the three bursaries at any time.
