Choosing a university is one of the first major decisions many young people have to make.
It’s also a confronting time for parents with all the normal concerns for their children “… where will they live? …who will look out for them? …will they be happy?”
At St Albert’s College your child will be part of our community. We believe that living on campus is an integral part of their university experience and they will form friendships and memories that will stay with them for life.
Discover the Albies Advantage – you and your child are welcome to tour our College and discuss enrolment with the Master or Dean at any time.
Albies is one of the most popular Colleges at the University of New England (UNE), providing a home-away-from-home for over 300 young adults from a diverse range of backgrounds. We offer more than just board and lodging – we value the individual and provide the perfect balance of academic, sporting, cultural and social events to help our student become a well-rounded, sought after graduate.
We offer Christian values with a true family atmosphere and welcome all faiths although no religious affiliation is required to join the College. Teamwork, participation and our support network are the basis of our great College spirit and it means that there’s always someone looking out for your child. Our residents traditionally maintain a high level of academic excellence, and this year, Albies first year students are often successful in receiving more than 25% of UNE’s top entrance scholarships.
Albies is also well known for its strong sporting and social traditions. Participation is encouraged and students experience an exciting social life including formal dinners, block parties and Parents’ Weekend – which all parents are encouraged to attend and is one of the highlights on our social calendar.
Our Rugby club is the top club in the New England competition. We have one of the top netball clubs in theUNE competition and also field competitive teams in a range of sporting competitions, including water-polo, basketball, soccer, touch, rugby league and hockey.
Experience shows that students in college often have fewer worries, more friends and regularly achieve better academic results than their peers flatting in town. Our students are successful and passionate about life – check out what they love most about living at Albies: “great mates and great times", “the traditions and College spirit", "academic and sporting opportunities", "…where else on earth can you live with 200 or so of your best friends?"
