Fees

Residents may select from 3 different types of Residential Accommodation Agreements: Long Term, Short Term and Casual, to best address their needs. Please note that Residents are required to pay their rent even when they stay away from Wright Village therefore it is important that Residents are aware of the different types of Accommodation Agreements available.

Long Term Accommodation Agreement (Academic Agreement)

The duration of this contract is either for a semester (20 weeks) or for the full academic year (40 weeks). A lower weekly rent is charged however Residents must stay for the duration of the term of the agreement, i.e. the agreement must be paid in full even if the Resident decides to vacate earlier than the termination date. This type of agreement is best suited to students who will undertake all their studies in Armidale during the semester/academic year. An additional electricity contribution amount is also charged on a weekly basis. This contract can be extended past the academic year (early November) until the end of January the following year should the Resident decide to stay up to, or over the Christmas holiday period.

The following table outlines the Standard Long Term Accommodation Agreement Fee Schedule in 2008 and includes the Instalment Dates for those residents providing Wright Village with the authority to deduct from their credit cards.

If you require accommodation before or after the contract period, and assuming appropriate notice is provided, it will be charged at the long term daily rate.

The weekly residential fees for 2008 for the Long Term Accommodation Agreement are as follows:

Short Term Accommodation Agreement

The duration of this contract must be greater than one month but includes the flexibility for the Resident to terminate the Accommodation Agreement at anytime after providing 4 weeks notice, i.e. after a Resident has stayed for 4 weeks they may terminate this Accommodation Agreement, after providing 4 weeks notice, and no further costs are incurred. This type of agreement is recommended for students who only require accommodation for one semester and where their studies will require them to be away from Armidale for parts of the academic year, e.g students in Education, Nursing or Postgraduate students completing research. An additional electricity contribution amount is also charged on a weekly basis. This contract can be extended past the academic year (early November) until the end of January the following year should the Resident decide to stay up to, or over the Christmas holiday period.

The weekly Residential fees for 2008 for the Short Term Accommodation Agreement are as follows:

Application Fee (new Residents) $50

Departure Fee* $100

Casual Accommodation Agreement

The maximum duration of this contract is 1 month and includes the flexibility for the Resident to terminate the Accommodation Agreement at anytime, after providing 2 days notice, and no further costs are incurred. This type of agreement is recommended for students who require temporary accommodation only. No additional electricity contribution amount is charged. Generally the availability of rooms is very limited.

The daily Residential fees for 2008 for the Casual Accommodation Agreement are as follows:
