Annual DinnerAnnual Dinner was held on 15th August, as part of the celebrations for parents weekend, with almost 500 in attendance. A large number of students recieved awards for academic excellence and Bot A recieved the E=PC(squared) award for 'smartest floor' for the first time. In addition many scholarships and bursaries were awarded on the night including the SCR McCarroll prize for the performing arts and the new Peter Hemphill Travelling Scholarships. These prizes were key in affirming to those in attendance Earle Page's exemplary academic support. |

Aspects Of Antiquity Lecture Two - Professor Francois LissarragueThe second lecture in the aspects of antiquity series "Images and ritual in Ancient Greece" was presented on 7th August by Francois Lissarrague. He has held various posts in the French National Research Centre and has been Director of Studies in the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, published five books and attended UNE as the 2008 Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens Visiting Professor. |

Aspects Of Antiquity Lecture One - Alexander WeissThe first lecture in Page's Antiquities Lecture Series was held on 31st July. Alexander Weiss, a Junior Professor at the University of Leipzig presented "Consuls, curators and city councillors among the earle Christians, AD1-3". Weiss has written two books and in 2007 came to Australia as Feodor Lynen Research Fellor of the Alexander con Humboldt FOundation, and is based at Macquatie University in Sydney. 2008 is the fifteenth successive year that the School of Humanities and Earle Page have combined to present the lecture series. |

Launch of Dr Peter Hemphill Travelling ScholarshipsThe first round of the Dr Peter Hemphill Travelling Scholarships has been launched. Dr Hemphill, a dedicated scholar and law lecturer at UNE and a much-loved member of Earle Page College's Senior Common Room for 26 years, left a bequest of nearly $700,000 to the College for the annual provision of travelling scholarships to current or former College members planning to study in Europe. This wonderful ongoing gift from Peter is very special indeed. It is envisaged that applications will be opened for two rounds each year, in May and November. EPC ChoirOn the 22nd May the Earle Page College Choir competed in the Armidale Regional Eisteddfod. The choir came 3rd in the Open 10-20 Singers section, and received a Highly Commended in the Open section. This is a great effort for the choir, which is made up of EPC residents and directed by Deidre Rickards, our professional Choral Director. |

CWA State ConferenceCollege Master, Mr David Ward, was honoured to be invited to officially open the Country Women's Association of NSW State Conference in Tweed Heads. This was in recognition of strong relationship of between the CWA of NSW and Earle Page College over many years. The College has hosted the CWA Country of Study School for the past 35 years and the Association donates four major Equity Scholarships to students of the College. The Conference held in May each year attracts approximately 1000 delegates from across NSW. |

Congratulations JessieJessie Webb graduated recently with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours, First Class) and the University Medal. In addition, she was awarded the Edgar H Booth Memorial Prize and Medal for the Honours Graduate who has the most distinguished academic record of all the graduates of the University. Jessie's dissertation was in Ancient History. Congratulations, Jessie! |

Small Music EnsembleOn Tuesday 13th May SFK's Small Music Ensemble was held. This SFK event involves a group of 2-15 performers from each college performing a compilation of music tied together with a theme for 8-10 minutes. Earle Page came 1st on the night with their spectacular performance of TV themes, which featured a wide selection of favourites ranging from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, to Babar, to Friends. Fashion ExtravaganzaOn Saturday 3rd May Coast Run's annual Fashion Extravaganza was held. It was an enjoyable night with lots of fun routines and great outfits. Overall, the night was a big success with the Coast Run committee raising $8500 on the night for the Children's Medical Research Institute. Thanks to everyone who gave their time to help put together a fun and successful night. |

Farewell to NarelleOn the 4th April the college farwelled Narelle Dowse, who is leaving after 38
years of exceptional service to the members of Earle Page College. Narelle
has been one of the two Dining Hall Supervisors. |

Campus to City CanterOver 40 Pagites competed in the Campus to City Canter on Saturday, 29th of March. Rising early and braving cold temperatures associated with an 8am run start Page performed brilliantly and took out the trophy for first college group across the line. |

Cab BallCabaret Ball was held on Saturday, 29th March, with the theme "Sororities and Fraternities". A large number of Pagites turned up to the Stro dressed as Jocks, Cheerleaders, Nerds and a whole host of other creative guises. Congratulations go to fresher Reps Danger and Pickles for Organising Cab and the College Sports Day on Sunday. |

Theatre SportsSFK Theatre Sports was held on the 16th of March, following the intra-college theatre sports night the previous week. As usual, Page was wildly successful, dominating the night and once again achieving first place in Theatre Sports! |

Introductory DinnerIntroductory Dinner was held on friday 22nd of February and is the first formal dinner of the year. A number of college members were recognised with scholarships for academic, community service and cultural excellence. Many more college members also recieved certificates for academic excellence in Semester 2, 2007 and Top D was awarded the E=PC2 award for "Smartest Floor" in college. |

O-WeekO Week was held from Monday 11th February - Sunday 17th February and Earle Page welcomed 129 freshers this year! The week was a huge success with highlights including Trivia Night, Fresher Bash, Toga party and Bush Dance. |
