Dealing with Protocol

The Corporate Events team, located with the Office of Advancement, provides professional support and advice to the Vice-Chancellor and other UNE staff to plan and manage key events involving high-profile visitors.

Visiting dignitaries or VIPs need to be treated with special courtesy befitting their office. Protocol is the customs and regulations dealing with diplomatic formality, precedence and etiquette and lays out the rules when dealing with VIPs.

It is advisable to contact the Corporate Events team during the INITIAL stages of the event planning process to ensure a consistent approach in line with relevant protocol requirements. Note that events involving tiers of government need at least four (4) months lead time.

Refer to University Event Protocols in the UNE Corporate Events Manual.
