Corporate Governance Conference
7 - 9 February 2010, Sydney
CALL FOR PAPERS
This conference will focus on all aspects of corporate governance.
Papers that place an emphasis on China, India and other Asian countries are particularly welcome
Issues will include (but not be limited to):
• structures and roles of advisory boards and other governance mechanisms in large public firms, privately owned firms and state owned enterprises;
• relationships between ownership structures, accountability and financial policies;
• implications of governance related regulation (including taxation, finance and accounting [including IFRS]);
• consequences of the global economic crisis on governance activities; and
• links between governance, sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
SUBMISSIONS
Competitive papers
These must be submitted in full as either Word or pdf documents attached to an email directed to Professor Brian Gibson, conference convenor, at brian.gibson@une.edu.au before 30th November 2009. They should be no more than 20 pages, A4, double spaced, 12 font. They will be double blind refereed and a decision and referees comments returned to author(s) as soon as possible. Accepted competitive papers, revised and returned by 22nd January 2010, will be published in full in a designated section of the conference proceedings (with ISBN number) provided at least one author registers for and attends the conference.
Working papers/workshops
A two page (maximum) summary (A4, double spaced, 12 font) of research work in progress, concept statements, or workshop ideas must be submitted (either Word or pdf document attachments to brian.gibson@une.edu.au) by 14th December 2009. Once accepted, a revised summary may be submitted up to 22nd January 2010.
Doctoral student presentations
A two page (maximum) summary (A4, double spaced, 12 font) outlining research questions and the current status of the research must be submitted (either Word or pdf document attachments to brian.gibson@une.edu.au) by 14th December 2009. An expanded (5 page maximum) summary will be required by 22nd January 2010.
VENUE
The conference will be held in the Australian Technology Park at Everleigh. This is a short suburban rail or taxi trip (about $15) from Sydney’s CBD.

There will be a bus pick up at the Citigate Central Sydney at the commencement of each day’s activities (as well as a return bus at the conclusion of activities).
REGISTRATION FEE
Early bird (received before 9 January 2010): $AUD440 including GST.
Normal: $AUD550 including GST.
Members of ANZAM, SEAANZ (or any other ICSB affiliate or ICSB international members) receive a 10% discount on the above rates.
Includes: welcome reception, refreshment breaks and lunches each day, conference dinner, copies of papers, and the conference CD.
Doctoral students (must provide evidence of current enrolment in PhD program): $AUD275 including GST (note does not include conference dinner)
