Nikki Burns Memorial Prize
This prize has been established by Nikki Burns’ husband and father in memory of Nikki who tragically died of cancer in January 2009. Nikki was a high achieving Honours student who loved her studies at UNE, which she used to call “my University”.
This prize is valued at $2,000.00 for 1 year and is available to students entering their 4th year of Psychology at the University of New England. Applicants must write a short submission (no more than 300 words) that demonstrates their passion and commitment for Psychology. The prize committee will give priority to tangible demonstrations of applicants’ passion and commitment. For example, this could be demonstrated through active membership of psychology societies and associations, relevant volunteer work, fund raising, mentoring, achieving high grades, persistence in the face of adversity such as serious illness or disability.
