Sporting Life
Austin is in the forefront of sport at UNE Everyone in Austin is encouraged to participate, either as a valued player or with a good dose of team spirit. Male students can participate in the President’s Trophy, held between all Residential Colleges and Wright Village. The President’s Trophy offers a full range of traditional sports, plus adventure sports such as Rock Climbing. The Mary Bagnall Trophy is held annually between female members of Residential Colleges and Wright Village and female non resident members of the Sports Association who participate in a town side with College status.
All Austin College residents have the opportunity to be selected in University teams to play at the Northern Regional Games and the Australian University Games. Not only are these prestigious events, but they offer participants an invaluable chance to travel and meet university students Australia wide.
