2009 AUQA Audit

The University was audited by AUQA for the second time in July 2009. The key dates were:

  • Monday 6 April 2009: Receipt by AUQA of the University's portfolio;
  • Thursday 14 May 2009: Preparatory Visit to the University by the panel chair and AUQA staff member;
  • June 2009: Visits to overseas operations of the University, and/or onshore partner operations, probably by the panel chair and AUQA staff member, if the panel decides such visits are warranted; and
  • 19-23 July 2009: Audit Visit to the University in Armidale.

There are several key differences between Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 audits, as well as some similarities.  The University's Cycle 2 audit will involve:

  • following up on recommendations from Cycle 1
  • an in-depth examination of two "themes" (or areas of activity)
  • consideration of academic risk areas for the University
  • affirmations, as well as commendations and recommendations
  • a greater focus on standards, benchmarking and outcomes
  • a focus on the National Protocols for Higher Education
  • a shorter, more focussed Performance Portfolio (no longer than 20,000 words)
