Geoff Harris is an Australian development economist currently based at the University of Natal, South Africa. He has taught and researched at La Trobe University [1969-71], the University of Papua New Guinea [1972-78], Lincoln University, New Zealand [1978-80] and the University of New England [1980-99]
Research interests and current research projects related to Asia:
Economic aspects of militarisation and military expenditure; Cost effective, non-military ways of building security; Planning and implementing demilitarisation; Recovery from armed conflict; The determinants of military expenditure.
