Who is eligible to participate?
Any person over the age of 60 years can apply to participate.
What level of musical skill do I need?
All participants must be able to read music and sing in tune. You do not necessarily need to be a singer. People with an instrumental background and can sing in tune are encouraged to participate.
How long is the Festival?
The Festival will be held over 6 days at the Coffs Harbour Campus of Southern Cross University.
What repertoire will be sung?
The repertoire will be a variety of challenging music that ranges from classic anthems through to chorus excerpts and dynamic spirituals. A specifically composed work for the Festival is being composed by Peter Sculthorpe and will be premiered at the closing concert.
How do I prepare for the Festival?
When you have paid your registration you will be sent a folio of the music to be covered in the Festival/Choral workshops.
What is the cost of participation for the 6 days?
$400 (inclusive of music, workshops and GST).
