School of Arts Honours Program
The School of Arts encourages and welcomes applications from motivated, well-qualified graduates to our Honours programs.
For more information about doing Honours in 2011, read this Honours Information Sheet.
Honours study offers students the opportunity to spend additional time pursuing research in their area of interest at a deeper level than is allowed by an undergraduate degree.
Honours is a pathway for students who wish to undertake a Postgraduate research degree such as MPhil or PhD.
For students not seeking to undertake an advanced degree Honours can hone superior research, analytical, writing, and communication skills that are transferable to other endeavours. A degree in Honours is well respected in the job market.
The Honours program is offered both internally and externally and either full-time, over one year, or part-time, over two years. The program in each discipline involves a combination of coursework units and a dissertation.

The Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree can be taken in all disciplines in the School of Arts: Chinese, Communication and Media Studies, English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Music, and Theatre Studies.
