I am very pleased to offer my support for this important new musical event in the Australian calendar. The Festival will provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of sharing a special musical experience. I encourage everyone with an interest to become involved and to join the celebration.

The aim of this National Festival is to provide a unique musical event that is purposely focused for seniors from all areas of Australia to come together in making and experiencing choral music at a high level.  The Festive will be the first of its kind in the Australia and will demonstrate the positive and active contributions of older people to the musical and wider community.  The Principal Conductor is Heather Buchanan from the USA who is world renown for her dynamic conducting and choral expertise both in the US and Europe. The Festival's Patron is Dr Peter Sculthorpe an eminent Australian composer and musician with an extensive international reputation of the highest order. He has kindly agreed to Open the Festival and also to compose a new choral item specifically for the the choir which will be premiered at the public closing concert.
