Alumni Awards

UNE began recognising the outstanding achievements of its alumni in 1994 with the introduction of the Distinguished Alumni Awards. Since that time, a number of other awards have been added to fully recognise significant graduate achievements at different life and work stages. View a complete list of Alumni Award recipients.

You can nominate graduates for one of the following four alumni awards. We encourage you to consider these awards when you hear about distinguished UNE alumni, and let us know of their achievements through your nomination.

The purpose of the four annual alumni awards are:

Distinguished Alumni

The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to a UNE graduate who:

  • displays outstanding leadership, professional and human qualities; and
  • contributes to their profession, business and/or community at local, national and/or international levels

Nominations may be made by graduates, staff, or UNE Council members. The Vice-Chancellor will convene an ad hoc Selection Committee to consider the nomination. The award will be conferred, where possible, at an alumni function hosted by the Vice-Chancellor in the location of the recipient.

Distinguished Graduate Fellow of the University

The title of Distinguished Graduate Fellow of the University may be conferred by the University Council in recognition of distinguished graduates of the University (including its antecedent institutions) who have a continuing association with the University, on the basis of the following criteria.

They display:
