Sheep Shearing
See Merino Sheep being shorn, and their wool being classed, on "Mirani", one of Australia's most renowned fine wool studs.
Our host for the morning is Nick Endacott, Instructor in Shearing and Wool-handling at New England TAFE. Nick has been a World Champion Shearer - Yes, it's also a sport! - and might even allow you to have a go at shearing a sheep yourself. It's a lot harder than it looks!
Occasionally the venue will change (perhaps due to weather) but then we would go to a different (but equally good and interesting) sheep farm.
Pick up will be at Mary White College and the Directory at 9.00 am, back by about 1.00 pm.
