Dorrigo National Park

dorrigoAs part of International Student Orientation UNE International and the Armidale International Association run a full-day excursion to the renowned rainforests of Dorrigo National Park, on the edge of Australia's Great Escarpment.

The Park is World Heritage-listed and part of a chain of rainforest reserves in Central Eastern Australia. The Rainforest Centre at Dorrigo, with associated Skywalk, has an informative display, a souvenir shop and a cafe. The popular Wonga Walk passes (under!) the famous Crystal Shower and Tristania Waterfalls.

Our destination is "The Glade" where we shall join the wildlife (bush turkeys, etc.) for a barbecue. Vegetarians will be catered for, of course, but please let us know your requirements when you register. A later stroll along the Wonga Walk will let you experience the forest close-up.

Pick-up will be at Mary White College and the Directory (nr Duval college) at 8.30am, and at Smith House at 8.40am. Bring good shoes, your camera, sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat. All food and drinks will be provided.

Return to UNE will be by 6.00pm or so.

Book your seat on the bus at Orientation or at the UNE International.

Cost: $15.00
Date: Saturday, 24th July, 2010
