Migration of Helicoverpa spp. from inland Australia

This photograph is taken in the same area and shows the transformation of the
area after heavy rainfall. The white flowers are daisies, Rhodanthe floribunda,
which are good hosts for Helicoverpa spp. We are interested in how migratory
insects such as Helicoverpa spp. cope with such extreme spatial and temporal
changes in habitat suitability. This project is in collaboration with the radar
entomology group at the University of New South Wales led by Dr. Alistair Drake.
