Office of Advancement
The Office of Advancement is responsible for facilitating a range of relationships between the University and external parties such as community and regional groups, industry and government organisations, alumni, and interested individuals. This occurs on a variety of levels and includes sponsorships, donations, informal and formal networks, collaborations and assistance.
The Director oversees these advancement activities and is also the Executive Officer of UNE Foundation.
The primary role of the Alumni Relations Officer is to strengthen relationships between alumni and the University, and to promote the welfare of the University. To this end, a social networking site is available for alumni use, where it is possible to register and interact with other alumni, keep up to date with University news, find out what events are on, and how you can support the University. Those proposing an alumni event should submit a "Notification of intention to hold an alumni event".
The University increasingly relies on external support to maintain its excellence in teaching, research and infrastructure and it is the role of the Donations and Scholarships Officer to seek contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. Programs include:
Centre for Agriculture and Sustainable Environment (CASE)
Office of Advancement staff work closely with the UNE Foundation, directors of which are working throughout the community to raise funds for scholarships, research, teaching and learning at UNE. The Foundation administers donations in accordance with donors’ wishes and operates with the full support of the UNE Council and Executive.
The UNE Advancement Committee provides advice to the Vice Chancellor on developing and promoting philanthropy to UNE.
