Why we're different
At the University of New England we proudly offer a unique combination of outstanding achievements in teaching and learning, small class sizes, and a distinguished history of research excellence. Add the relaxed, beautiful Armidale environment and it's not surprising that both students and staff consistently rate their experience at UNE as outstanding.
The university has four faculties:
Within the faculties there are 18 teaching schools with approximately 473 academic members of staff.
UNE has been a national leader in distance education for almost half a century, and currently provides off-campus education to approximately 14,000 students for whom the flexible and comprehensive programs have been designed to make studying easy and accessible.
The University currently offers some 400 units for online study. Some units are completely online, others have online components such as discussion groups and resource links.
Residential colleges provide approximately 2000 beds in a variety of accommodation options on campus ranging from fully catered, partially catered and self catered accommodation, as well as fully independent on-campus flats.
