The University of New England continues to build on its enviable reputation with a rewarding, flexible and contemporary education package. As Australia's oldest regional university, UNE pioneered distance education and is an acknowledged leader in this field.  It also has an extensive, traditional residential college system providing academic support and cultural and sporting facilities that are the envy of our city counterparts. The following accolades are testament to UNE's dedication to its students and its reputation in the community.

2008 Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning

In the 2008 Australian Learning and Teaching (ALTC) Citations, UNE was awarded citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning for seven nominees.  The ALTC is an initiative of the Australian Government to promote and reward excellence in university teaching.

2009 Good Universities Guide

UNE has held the maximum rating (five stars) for educational experience for nine out of the past ten years.
