Intensive Schools

Throughout the year a number of voluntary intensive schools may be arranged for specific units. Lecturers in the units concerned conduct an intensive series of lectures, tutorials and discussions held over one day. Intensive schools are held in Parramatta at UNE Sydney, unless other arrangements are made. Although attendance is voluntary, we strongly advise you to attend intensive schools in your units if at all possible. At these schools you have the opportunity of meeting your fellow students and lecturers for informal discussions and advice.

When a intensive school is planned for a particular unit, students will be able to register or decline to attend the event in myLearn. If there are insufficient numbers, the intensive school may be cancelled.

If a intensive school has to be cancelled, students who have registered will be notified via email. There will also be a notice in myLearn.

If travel is involved, students must make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. Please see the links for information on accommodation and travel to Parramatta.

Accommodation Information for UNE students

Accommodation is available at the WSU village.

There is a free shuttle bus service from the UWS campus into the Parramatta CBD, which drops students off about a three-minute walk from UNE Sydney. (They drop off at 100 George Street, Parramatta).

UNE have negotiated a special rate with the Novotel hotel (which is about a seven-minute walk from UNE Sydney). New England Travel are able to make the bookings for students, but you would need to make the payment at the time of booking.
