ConocoPhillips Science Experience
Venue: The University of New England, Armidale NSW
Date: 17 – 19 January 2017 inclusive
Cost: Registration plus $50/night for accommodation and all meals
The Science Experience at the University of New England, Armidale, is an all-round university experience.
You can immerse yourself in a world of science across disciplines in a program filled with hands-on activities including experiments, field trip and spotlighting for mammals at Dangar Falls, DNA investigations, extreme chemistry, robotics with lego and gyroscopes, and contribution to the School of Ants citizen science project based at UNE. In addition, the new regional Natural History Museum will be opening in 2016, featuring tonnes of great opportunities for getting amongst paleontological, zoological and geological collections.
Students have an opportunity to interact with, and ask questions of scientists from industry, academia, consulting and government in a career panel discussion that focuses on the changing job market in science and helping students identify their passions and interests in science.
Supervised accommodation is available in one of the University's residential colleges at a cost of only $100 including breakfast, lunch and dinner for both nights. We hold a trivia night at the college and students get the opportunity to rock climb and swim at SPORT UNE’s world class facilities.
We encourage students to seek Rotary scholarships to cover registration costs. Contact your local Rotary Club and discuss your motivation for attending The Science Experience today.
