Bachelor of Agrifood Systems (Agricultural Production and Management)

Work ready-graduates managing productive farming systems.

The Bachelor of Agrifood Systems is a unique course which combines vocational and university units to equip you with practical skills in agricultural production and management. You will learn cutting edge techniques at our innovative SMART Farm and the production feedlot at Tullimba.



Entry Pathways

HSC, Cert IV or 4 approved Diploma units (rule a)

Students complete vocational Diploma and Advanced Diploma units alongside UNE units to gain the Bachelor of Agrifood Systems.

Students who commence their studies in agricultural production and management via this pathway will need:

  • Higher School Certificate;
  • a VET Certificate IV or higher qualification in any field; or
  • to have completed 4 units from a Diploma of Agriculture; Production Horticulture; Holistic Management; or Crop Agronomy.

Completed Diploma (rule b)

Students complete vocational Advanced Diploma units alongside UNE units to gain the Bachelor of Agrifood Systems.

Students who commence their studies via this pathway hold an approved Diploma of Agriculture; Production Horticulture; Holistic Management; or Crop Agronomy.

Completed the Advanced Diploma (rule c)

Students will be able to progress directly to the Bachelor of Agrifood Systems units via this pathway.

Students who commence their studies via this pathway hold an approved Diploma of Agriculture; Production Horticulture; Holistic Management; or Crop Agronomy. In addition, students hold an approved Advanced Diploma of Agriculture or Agribusiness Management.

What should I study at school?

You need a sound knowledge of mathematics, and we recommend you study biology and/or chemistry.

Can I apply for early entry?

Yes, all Year 12 and some TAFE students can apply directly to UNE for Direct Early Entry before your results are released.
