Availability:
Available to internal students, or to external students provided they can arrange to attend the five hour induction class in Armidale. Either semester 1 or 2, or during non-teaching periods.

Objectives:

  • Students who successfully complete this unit should:
  • demonstrate how the skills they have gained in their work experience placement accord with the requirements of the Graduate Attributes at UNE.
  • how the skills developed in their work experience relates to achieving the goals of Archaeology and Palaeoanthropology teaching ( as set out earlier in this booklet).
  • Recount the nature of their work experience in written form

Content:
The unit comprises work experience in Archaeology or Palaeoanthropology, with appropriate employers. You are required to spend approximately 120 hours undertaking work placement and cover a negotiated set of learning objectives, assessment tasks and work-place learning experiences, appropriate to your degree.

Assessment:
On completion of the placement you must also submit an academic report of 4000 words.

(note: This may also be done as non-academic work experience. You also arrange for suitable work experience with an employer of your choice for whatever time you have available. Contact co-ordinator for more details.)
